German Orjuela

Construction Project Manager | Gordian

Presenter bio
German began his career as a Special Inspector, performing multi-disciplinary inspections that included soil compaction, reinforcing steel, concrete, fire-stopping, fire-proofing, masonry, and bolting. This strong technical foundation paved the way for a transition into Construction Management, where he spent six years with the New York City School Construction Authority (NYC-SCA) as a Project Officer. In that role, he oversaw multi-million-dollar renovations and the construction of new school facilities across New York City. More than 13 years ago, German joined Gordian as a Construction Project Manager, managing projects for the New York City Department of Education (NYC-DOE). Throughout his tenure at Gordian, he partnered with multiple public agencies to introduce, implement, and support the Job Order Contracting (JOC) program. These agencies include NYC Health and Hospitals (NYC-HHC), the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY), the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), and the New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY). In 2020, German relocated to Florida’s Gulf Coast Region to serve as Account Manager for Pinellas County and the City of Tampa. As the JOC program expanded for both clients, his focus shifted to the City of Tampa, where dedicated efforts strengthened partnerships and unlocked new revenue potential. As a result, the City of Tampa increased its commercial contract capacity by more than 100%. Through strategic program growth and strong relationship-building, German has helped secure new housing contracts, further increasing revenue for Gordian’s Gulf Coast Region while creating opportunities for team expansion and long-term success.
